Bonfire season is nearly here, and there is no better place to enjoy it than The Brave Nelson. Our family Fireworks Night is back, with a bright display lighting up the sky above our huge beer garden. Whether you are coming with the kids, your mates or the whole family, it is a night out that everyone can enjoy.
Here is everything you need to know before you head down.
When is Fireworks Night?
Our Fireworks Night takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026. We hold it on the Saturday after Bonfire Night, so you do not need to worry about work or school the next morning.
Timings for the night are shared on our events in Brentwood page, so check there before you set off. On Saturdays the pub is open from 12:00 until midnight, so you can come early and make a day of it.

Our beer garden has room for over 1,000 guests, but this is one of our busiest nights of the year. We recommend booking your tickets early so you do not miss out.
Plan your day
Food
Fireworks are always better with a full stomach. Our kitchen serves proper pub food that is perfect for a chilly November night. Here are a few favourites:
- The Nelson Burger: an 8oz prime beef burger in a gourmet bun
- Chicken and Bacon Buffalo Burger: a firm favourite with our regulars
- Fish and chips, scampi or chicken goujons: classic pub comfort food
- Thai Vegan Burger: a tasty plant-based option
- Pizzas: served seven days a week
- Kids’ meals: smaller plates for younger guests

Drinks
Our bar will be open all night, so you can grab a drink and find a good spot before the display starts. On draught, we serve Guinness, Foster’s, Birra Moretti and Cruzcampo, plus Heineken 0.0% for anyone who is driving. We also have bottled beers, wines, Prosecco, spirits, cocktails and a full range of soft drinks and juices for the kids.
Making the most of the night
- Arrive early. The best spots in the garden go quickly.
- Wrap up warm. November evenings get cold once the sun goes down, so bring hats, gloves and a warm coat.
- Bring the kids. Our garden has its own children’s play area, and under-14s get in free.
- Think about your dog. Dogs are usually welcome on a lead, but fireworks can be very scary for them. Many pets are happier at home on this night.
- Look after little ears. Ear defenders can help young children enjoy the display without the loud bangs upsetting them.

If you use a sat nav, just pop in our postcode. We are in Warley, a short drive from Brentwood town centre, with easy links to the A12 and the M25.
Parking
We have free parking on site. As Fireworks Night is a busy event, car parking spaces can fill up fast, so arriving early gives you the best chance of a space. If you can, share a lift with friends or family.
Getting here without a car
If you plan to have a few drinks, leave the car at home. Taxis are easy to book from Brentwood town centre and Brentwood station, and it is a short ride to Woodman Road. Please book your taxi home in advance, as lots of people will be leaving at the same time.
